90 Minute Girls Instructional Gymnastics Classes
This class is 90 minutes long. Girls age 7 and older can enjoy the faster progress that comes with more equipment time. We build on basic skills done right along with physical conditioning and gradual introduction of newer and more interesting activities whenever possible. The length of this class is longer to provide the girls with more equipment time which really makes a difference. Every lesson takes into consideration the age and experience for the student - beginner through intermediate. Lots of personal attention makes for lots of personal achievement all in a friendly and noncompetitive atmosphere.
Monday 6:30 to 8:00
Tuesday 4:30 to 6:00
Tuesday 7:00 to 8:30
Wednesday 7:00 to 8:30 - on demand
Girls Advanced Instructional Class - by invitation only
For the students who know their way around a gymnastics gym and have previous experience we offer an advanced class for ages 7 and older. At the present time it’s a pre competitive setting with lots of physical conditioning and developmental stretching - exactly what a high level student needs. You can’t be too strong or too flexible, but it’s a playful and friendly setting.
The students in this class are asked to master the skills for Level 3 and 4 of our National Junior Olympic Age Group Program - the USAG Compulsories. At some point the girls will choose if they want to build a team at the Oaks Gym or keep the non competitive / pre competitive program going.
The advance class meets TWICE each week.
Monday from 6:30 to 8:00
Thursday from 6:45 to 8:15
90 minutes of practice time each day.
The fees for this class are paid “month to month” - $188 per month.
A workout uniform is required - tank top leotard and matching shorts - about $65.
A competition warm-up suit, long sleeve leotard, team gym bag, etc. is NOT REQUIRED.
There is NO fundraising. There is NO parents association and NO association dues.
There is NO “hyper-competitive” agenda - the students are not pushed to perform new skills they are not ready for, just so they can compete - winning is NOT the overwhelming goal.
The girls are considered “winners” because of their dedication and hard work.
Satisfaction through personal achievement.
The Oaks Gymnastics Academy is producing high level gymnasts through structure and discipline and positive, supportive coaching.
